EA Lausanne

Welcome to the EA Lausanne Community!

Here at EA Lausanne, we offer a range of activities on the theme of effective altruism, including talks, discussion evenings, community lunches, and more in-depth programs and seminars. If you have any questions about our activities, feel free to reach out to lausanne@effectivealtruism.ch. To become a member of our association, you can fill out this quick form. You can also join our Telegram group here.

Talks & Q&As

Each semester, we invite several speakers with expertise on a topic related to effective altruism for a talk and Q&A. Anyone can attend, and previous talks are available on our YouTube page. For information on upcoming talks, see the calendar below!

Discussion Evenings

Discussions evenings are opportunities to explore ideas and practices of effective altruism through dialogue. Come to learn if you are unfamiliar with selected topics or share your perspective if you have given thoughts to them. See our calendar below for upcoming sessions.

Community Lunches

Before being effective altruists, we are friends! Meet us every week on Thursdays at FoodLab Native on the EPFL campus. The idea is to have a good time over a meal and get to know each other better. You can join our Telegram group to stay updated on upcoming lunches.

Artificial Intelligence

Do you marvel at the recent progress in artificial intelligence (AI) and are curious about its limits, if any? The development of AI is a sociotechnical challenge that poses many risks that need to be tackled.

Join our commission that organizes the famous Burrito Reading Group, hackathons, talks and more — all around the theme of AI safety.
